Founded on the 31st May 1977. Our Auxiliary is raising funds to support approved grants and wish list items, allowing The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) Foundation to respond and service the most pressing needs for the hospital.

The story so far
The RCH Ladies Auxiliary – Wangaratta branch was founded on the 31 May 1977. We still have two of our original members and four of our members have over 20 years service and experience. Today we have 15 members, with new blood coming in regularly. Our Auxiliary is passionate about helping all kids, but the Children’s Cancer Centre is a favourite. Wangaratta is a very charitable town when it comes to the RCH. We are always in the top five for raising money for the Good Friday Appeal even with a population of only 17-20,000.
What we are working on
Our Auxiliary holds monthly Hoy afternoons, we have bus trips to the Pokies twice a year, we hold raffles and street stalls to sell all our home-cooked goodies and beautiful knitwear and craft items. We also hold sausage sizzles, which are always a hit with the young and old. However our biggest event of the year is the Oxley Bush Market where we hold a stall selling jams, sauces, chutneys, cakes, slices and much more. This market coincides with the Wangaratta Jazz Festival and is a lot of work, but a lot of fun as well. We hold monthly meetings to discuss our fundraising calendar, which is always concluded with a cuppa and cake. The Wangaratta Auxiliary would love to hear from anyone who has some spare time, loves to chat, is good with people and wants to help the kids.
