Raising funds for research into paediatric cardiac conditions
Area: Outer eastern suburbs
THE STORY SO FAR
CPR was formed to raise funds for cardiac paediatric research and associated equipment. Some of its fundraising activities have included Paddy's Market, the hospital Christmas and Easter raffles, fundraising stalls and volunteering time in the Gift Shop.
What we are working on
The Cardiology Department at the Royal Childrens Hospital provides a diagnostic and treatment service for patients referred with actual, or suspected, heart disease. The service comprises outpatient facilities, inpatient provision, a comprehensive range of non-invasive investigational facilities, with a range of interventional cardiology procedures.
The goal of the Cardiology Department is to ensure that all infants and children born with heart defects, or acquiring heart disease during childhood, have access to effective diagnostic and treatment facilities and are given the best possible chance of enjoying a full and healthy life. With the vital funding for research provided by the CPR Auxiliary this goal is well within reach.
